How Our Adblock Tester Works
Our comprehensive testing suite uses multiple detection methods to evaluate how well your adblocker protects you from ads, trackers, and malware.
Detection Methods
Bait Element Detection
We create HTML elements with common ad-related class names and IDs (like 'ad-banner', 'adsbox', 'sponsored'). If your adblocker hides or removes these elements, it indicates CSS-based blocking is active.
Script Blocking Detection
We attempt to load JavaScript files from known ad networks like Google AdSense, DoubleClick, and Facebook Pixel. If the script fails to load, your adblocker is successfully blocking network requests to ad servers.
Image & Pixel Tracking
Many trackers use 1x1 pixel images to track user behavior. We test if your adblocker prevents these tracking pixels from loading, which is essential for privacy protection.
Network Request Analysis
We make fetch requests to known ad and tracking domains. If these requests are blocked by your browser extension, it shows your adblocker is filtering network traffic effectively.
